Thai Elephant Research and Conservation Fund (TERF) work closely with various surrounding conserved forest communities throughout Thailand to continuously study the human elephant conflict, as well as cooperates with the respective communities and other NGOs to jointly find solutions and to carry out possible prevention methods in such problems including; the reduction of impacts from elephants on the farmers’ cultivation.

TERF organize campaigns to support the conservation of Thai elephants and the environment, in the project titled “Little Elephants in the Wild”, to the surrounding schools around Khao Yai National Park. The project involves activities and seminar courses in both theory and practice about the general knowledge and its relative issues to raise awareness about Thai elephants.

TERF carry out various activities such as education on Thai elephants, organizes Mathematics and Environment camp, elephants riding for natural sightseeing, elephants feeding, light and sound of elephants performance titled “Thai Elephants… On the Track of Changing Life Path, assemble of mini concerts “Hill Tribe Man and His Stories of Thai Elephants”; at which, all events are organize to support the original traditions and the culture of the community.

Trees for Elephants

TERF, religious institutions, schools and the community work together on the project called “Trees for Elephants” by the support of Bring the Elephants Home, to raise new saplings of different native plant species and reforestation, later then the TERF have build a plant nursery that allows sharing of information and support for further reforestation activities for other interested bodies.
