Introduction to TERF Activities and Events

TERF work closely with various surrounding conserved forest communities throughout Thailand to continuously study the human elephant conflict, as well as cooperates with the respective communities and other NGOs to jointly find solutions and to carry out possible prevention methods in such problems including; the reduction of impacts from elephants on the farmers’ cultivation.

HEC survey in Salak Pra Wildlife Sanctuary, Karnchanaburi province 13-18 Sep 07

During 13-18 September 2007, staffs of HEC Project went to Salah Pra Wildlife Sanctuary in Karnchanaburi province to survey the problems. The survey was conducted in 8 villages of 3 districts, Muang, Sri Sawas, and Bor Ploy. In Khao Sing Toe village, a villager told the staff that wild elephants came just one day before the visit of the staff. As usuall, information about the problem was collected. Questionnaires were also used for acquiring the data. To try to solve the problem in the areas, Elephant Conservation Foudation has build a four-kilometer electric fence.
